We are writing to you to ask whether you could let your members know about On Assignment - our new photography course launching this year on Easdale Island on Scotland’s stunning west coast.
Following on from the success of our previous courses over the last seven years, we are now launching a new addition for 2023. Titled On Assignment, this two-day course offers participants the opportunity to come and stay on the island and experience what it is like to shoot a story on commission about life on Easdale. Using our practical knowledge and experience as longstanding professional photographers working on assignments and projects worldwide, we hope that by the end of the course, you will have put together your own photo feature which reflects island life today.
Our courses are friendly and informative with a maximum of six participants, meaning there is plenty of opportunity to work closely with us to discover how to structure, shoot and edit an assignment. Subjects such as researching what to photograph, camera skills, portraiture, basic lighting techniques and editing will all be covered and over the two days participants will work toward producing a set of images which truly tell a story about life on this fascinating, car-free island, which has a permanent population of 65 yet attracts thousands of visitors each year to hear about its history as the centre of Scotland’s slate mining industry in years gone by.
The course offers three night’s accommodation, with all meals provided for those taking part. Participants will stay in our two comfortable, modern, traditionally-designed cottages which have all the facilities you require to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.
